Thanks to the efforts of Katie Earles, a former member of Reck Club, an initiative to provide free books to campus, out of the Reck, began! This event has continued throughout the years and is met with great excitement on campus!

Before a club hockey game between Georgia Tech and uGA, the Reck led the team onto the ice to the cheer of the adoring crowd. However, the blessings of the Reck did not work, as Tech lost 1-4 (Tech did win the next two against the Bulldogs though)!

After a long time, the Reck finally has a home on campus. The Reck Garage is conveniently placed in the heart of campus and provides public access to the Reck like never before! This was possible thanks to the donations of many individuals, but especially the generous donation from the Wallis Family.

During Homecoming Week 2024, Matthew Kistner became the first Ramblin’ Reck Driver to drive 3,000 miles behind the wheel of the mascot. The record came as part of his campaign promise to “push passion across campus through the Reck.” Logging miles in 10 states, Kistner finished his 2024 Driver term with 3,756 miles behind the wheel.

The Ramblin’ Reck travelled to five of the Jackets’ away destinations during the 2024 football season. Being towed as far as 963 miles north to Syracuse, New York, the Reck attended regular season away games for the first time since 2019. Traveling to the iconic ACC venues of Syracuse, Louisville, North Carolina and Virginia Tech, the Reck brought a piece of home games on the road. The Reck also led the football team onto the field for the 2024 Birmingham Bowl where Tech took on Vanderbilt, the Jackets’ unfortunately came up short in a 35-27 loss.
